Morning all
It’s my time for Hostess Monday
DIGITAL DELIGHTS BLOG. Firstly let me tell you about Digital Delights, I am new to the team and I must say that they are a great team so friendly, but above all Wendy is a fabulous designer. Her images are the best, they are great to colour and there are so many to chose from. She is always releasing new images and SGV files. They also have a bargain Friday. For my project, I decided that I would do a book card and when I saw the bookyworm image I just knew this is what I would have to do, its so fitting.
I have used one of her coloured images so you can see how great they are. These book cards make great keepsakes
or special cards for your loved ones. You can even place a little gift inside
as a surprise.
I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
One stitch at a time - Anything goes
Crafty Caz - Anything goes
Step One
You will need to cut 2 pieces of card 24.0cm x 12.5cm and 2 pieces 24cm x 14.5cm to make the book pages.
Step Two
You will then need to score the card. If you don’t have a Scorpal which has cm on (which I don’t – MUST BUY ONE) you will need to mark it with a pencil at 2cm intervals so you know where to score it on your score board.
Step Three
Using an edge punch, punch along 1 edge of each of the scored cards as shown below.
Step Four
You will then need to fold them in alternate directions to make a concertina as shown below. You can stress the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Inks if you wish (this gives a great finish to page edges of the book) or just leave it plain depending on your style of card.
Step Five
Here comes the tricky bit of fixing and glueing the 4 pieces together to form the inside of the book. Fixing them together can be a little difficult, you just need to KEEP CALM and it will come together.
Step Six
Now all we have to make is the book cover. For this, you will need 1 piece of card stock 29.4cm x 15cm. Score a line 13.7cm from each side which will leave you with a 2cm spine in the middle of the card. Score and fold to form the cover and attach ribbon before decorating the card. This will be used to tie the book together.
Glue the pages of your book to the inside back cover and decorate as you wish.
Congratulations you have now produced your own fabulous book card.
